Well, I would take this opportunity to be a catalyst; to increase the boards activity as it were. So, we arrive at this humble topic, containing the ravings of a madman and a simple question: what is your favourite form of media, and why?

Any media is fair game: music, literature, video-games, smoke signals, movies; in short, go forth and mingle.

To start, I'd say that literature would be my favourite style medium. The overall quality I find to be superior to most movies and games, in terms of plot, the characters more interesting and logical, and the stories more enduring.

I'm going to have to keep up a trend of mine and go with animation.

At fullest potential, animation combines the greatest points of literature and movies. That is, you can do subtle visual hints (detective stories work much better in a film medium) as well as atmospheric music, two of the strongest features of a movie. However, animation tends to illustrate the fantastic almost as well as a book, while live-action often has problems with doing this.
