You ever notice how the same people who go on and on about how they have no faith in humanity anymore - the really loud ones who like to drip with sarcasm and everyone thinks they're goddamn funny - don't seem to do jackshit? They might vote or something to fit their ideals, but they don't act like nice people.
AND ANOTHER THING. You can say, 'oh, that's just how I act online' all the fuck you want, but while how the internet treats you may not matter much, how you treat people on the internet is as much a facet of who you truly are as anything else. Perhaps the truest reflection, thanks to anonymity.

Penny Arcade was right with their equation. I can't find the exact comic myself, but someone will likely have the link/image.
And it is sad how not having faith in humanity is the norm, nowadays, at least on the Internet. While there are many acts of depravity, there are also many acts of kindness. The news industry just finds it more profitable to publicise the bad, and people find the wrong-doings more interesting to talk about.
